Dimitra Tsourou

Teacher, GCSE and A-Level examiner

Dimitra is an experienced educator who has held teaching positions in Ofsted-rated Outstanding schools and in higher education. She served for several years as a state-appointed secondary school and college teacher in Greece and has been teaching in the UK since 2017. She specialises in Modern Greek, Classical Greek and Latin at GCSE and A-Level, as well as Classics more broadly. She also designs curricula, schemes of work and lesson plans for classical schools and educational institutions across the UK.

Dimitra holds a BA in Classics, with a focus on Medieval and Modern Greek Studies, an MSc in Modern and Contemporary History, UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and a Diploma in English History and Freelance & Feature Writing from the London School of Journalism.

She is the author of Rebetiko & Analysis — An Educational Tool for A-Level Examinations within the UK Education System, as well as several GCSE and A-Level Greek workbooks. Alongside her teaching and writing, she mentors fellow educators, supporting them in developing effective, innovative and student-centred teaching methodologies.
