- Gain the ability to express their thoughts and ideas effectively in written and spoken Greek.
- Deepen their understanding of language usage in various contexts and expand their vocabulary.
- Develop an appreciation and understanding of the culture and identity of Greek-speaking countries and communities.
- Foster bilingual learning.

The course is offered at two levels: foundation tier and higher tier. The duration of the course ranges from two to three years depending on the students’ prior knowledge. As expected, at the end of this course the students can give the GCSE exams in Greek.
A-Levels
We have developed a new class, the Greek Level 3 (A-Level) Advanced GCSE, with the aim of inspiring students to appreciate the language, literature, film, and culture of Greece and Cyprus. Our course is designed to be motivating and inspiring, providing students with an opportunity to develop advanced-level knowledge of the Greek language, as well as an understanding of the culture of Greece and Cyprus. Additionally, the course focuses on developing practical and valuable language skills, along with transferable study skills. This comprehensive program will not only prepare students for higher education but also enhance their employability profile.
The Pearson Edexcel Level 3 Advanced GCSE in Greek (listening, reading, and writing) consists of three externally examined papers that assess different language skills.
- Paper 1 evaluates translation into English, reading comprehension, and writing with a research question.
- Paper 2 assesses translation into Greek and requires a written response to literary texts and films.
- Paper 3 focuses on listening, reading, and writing in Greek.
