At the end of A1, A2, B1, B2, the students will be ready to take the assessment for the certification in Greek. Our school, as a certified examination center, can host exams at its premises and our teachers are qualified to prepare the students for all levels of exams.
A1
Duration: 4-5 years
At this level students should be able to understand and speak basic Greek in order to take their knowledge in grammar and vocabulary a step further. They also develop their skills in reading, reading comprehension, writing and speaking.
The students can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. They can introduce themselves and others, and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people they know and things they have.
A2
Duration: 2-3 years
The students learn more expanded meanings in Greek by using more and widened themes in speaking and writing. At this stage all students are expected to know how to speak Greek and understand fully listening and verbal exercises. They will learn the grammar and vocabulary needed to expand their knowledge in Greek themes, daily life and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
B1
Duration: 2-3 years
The B1 level is the first in a series of six language proficiency levels that characterize the language user as independent and can be considered a crucial milestone. Candidates at this level are able to function autonomously and effectively in common communicative situations.
The students can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.They can produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest and they can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
Our school’s course provides comprehensive preparation for success in examinations and lays the appropriate foundations for further advancement.
B2
Duration: 2-3 years
B2 certification is necessary for studies in Greece, for admission to Greek universities, for practicing healthcare professions in Greece, and also for employment purposes both in the private and public sectors.
We offer an innovative and interactive B2 level Greek language course.
The students can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialisation. They can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
Conversation group
For every age depending on the demand. It can last for as long as the group needs.
In this “Conversation lesson” can participate the children who are older than the age in which they are required to know how to speak Greek in order to take part in one of our classes, as well as children who want to learn how to speak Greek without learning all the grammar needed. Students gradually learn basic phrases and simple meanings/themes in order to start doing simple conversations in Greek. The class’s time is completely devoted to verbal practice, by simultaneously using small texts and sentences for reading. The students are required to practise at home everything they learn in class in order to optimise their speaking skills in Greek.
