Vasiliki Tofarou
Head Teacher
Mrs Vasiliki is a qualified Primary Teacher. In 2009 she received her bachelor in Education and 2 years later she finished her master’s degree in Special and Inclusive Education both at the University of Cyprus. For 7 years, she has successfully worked in one of Cyprus’s best English Schools and she specialised on children with autism. Since September 2016 she has been the Primary teacher for KS1, KS2 and GCSE at the Hellenic School of Manchester as well as a SEN Teaching Assistant at a Primary School. As of September 2019 until today, Vasiliki is the Head Teacher of the Hellenic School. As an educator, she takes pride being hard working, enthusiastic, caring and loving. Vasiliki is always seeking to develop professionally and she sets the development of the social skills and effective education of children.

Maria Tsitsi

Ellinomatheia CoordinatorMrs Maria studied Greek History and Ethnology in Democritus University of Thrace and majored in ancient Greek, and has graduated from the “Education and Learning” course at the University of Bolton. She worked as a private tutor for 10 years in Greece, helping primary school children improve their skills in Greek and preparing adolescent students for their exams in modern and ancient Greek, history and Latin. She also worked as a volunteer teacher in schools as well as in Roma and refugee camps. She took part in various seminars regarding education in multicultural environments and university researches in Greek folklore and history studies.

Dimitra Tsourou

Ms Dimitra studied Classics at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a master’s degree with distinction in Contemporary and Modern History from Panteion University of social and political science. She was also a contributing researcher on the project ‘’Balkan Crossroads’’ (Columbia University). She has a diploma with distinction in freelance & feature writing and English history from London School of Journalism. She had been an appointed secondary education teacher and examiner in Greece for 11 years. She also completed the annual seminar for further specialization entitled:” Contemporary topics of Special Education in Secondary Education”. She has worked as a Modern and Classical Greek language teacher – specializing in GCSE & A-level- in the UK since 2017. She is also a contributing author in Adelaide Literary Magazine, New York.

Effimia Agiorgiotaki

Mrs Effimia Agiorgiotaki is a qualified Primary Teacher. She received her bachelor degree with first class honours from the department of Primary Education in the Democritus University of Thrace and has worked several years in primary schools with different age groups. She is hard working and passionate about Greek language, literature and history and she wants to make sure every student achieves their full potential.

Effrosyni Kiana

Mrs Froso studied Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specializing in Special and Therapeutic Physical Education. She holds a Level 3 Diploma in Greek Sign Language and, in 2016, she became a qualified teacher in the UK.
In 2021, she completed a Level 3 Diploma in Special Educational Needs (SEN), further enhancing her expertise in supporting children with diverse learning needs. Most recently, in 2024, she trained as a LEGO-Based Therapist, gaining skills to deliver play-based therapeutic interventions.
Since 2022, Mrs Froso has been working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in primary schools (KS1), supporting children’s learning and development through tailored educational strategies.

My name is Sarafi Georgia, I am 37 years old and a graduate of the Kindergarten Department of the University of Western Macedonia, Florina. In Greece I have worked as a kindergarten teacher and baby sitter. For the last 5 years or so I have been living and working in Manchester, England, from where the last 2.5 in nurseries as an early years practitioner.

Melina Gousiou

Mrs Melina holds a degree in Classical Philology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with merit. She has also specialised in Special Education by completing a diploma in ‘Special Education: Learning Disabilities-Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Mental disorders, Autism, Parental Guidance’. She holds an Executive MBA (EMBA) from the University of Piraeus with honours and finally in 2017 she was qualified as a middle leader by being awarded the National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML). She is fluent in Greek, English, French and Spanish. She has many years of teaching experience in private and public primary, secondary and tertiary education in Greece and in England where she has been living since 2014. She is a teacher of Greek, history and geography in England, Head of sociology and psychology for Level A and GCSE courses and teacher of English as a foreign language to adult and minor students in Greece and in the UK.
She is the author of digital material for the GCSE sociology course for Seneca and she has co-authored the guide for preparing A Level pupils for their exams in Modern Greek.

Mrs Sophia is a qualified Primary School teacher with ten years’ experience in different ages, conditions and abilities.
Enthusiastic and engaging educator who encourages pupils to achieve their full potential and parents to be part of children’s progress.
She has worked in different types of Greek primary schools and in a variety of ages from 6 to 12 years old. She has taught all of the primary lessons such as language, literature, history, maths, geography, arts and especially science. Also, she loves to involve her students in projects and work on them. She likes to build and develops professional relationships with school staff, pupils and parents.

Vanda Sotirou
Teacher
Ms Vanda studied Classics at the University of Athens and continued MA studies in Applied Linguistics at the University of Essex in the UK. Moreover, she completed a M.Ed at the University of Athens and she attended several seminars in SEN and intercultural education. In Greece, she was teaching for several years Ancient Greek, Modern Greek Literature, Latin, History and English as a Second Language. She was also teaching to foreigners Modern Greek as a Second or Foreign Language at a programme of the Greek Ministry of Education.
In the UK, she was working as LSA at several primary and secondary settings and she is currently working as IL at Sale High School.

Gina Margiolaki

I graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2006 holding a degree in Greek Philology with specialisation in Classics. Since then, I have worked as a private tutor and supply teacher in Greece preparing students for their exams in Modern Greek, Ancient Greek, Latin and History. I have also taught Greek as a foreign language for children in junior high school. I continued my studies in the University of Nicosia, holding a master’s in special education. I believe in inclusive education and continuous learning and currently I am participating in the MA program ‘Education and Social Justice’ of Lancaster University.

Marina Themistou

Miss Marina Themistou is a qualified Primary School Teacher currently working as a Supply Teacher and SEN (Special Educational Needs) Tutor. She completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at the University of Leicester and taught in Cheetwood Primary School for 2 years. She holds a BA (Hons) degree in English Literature and Drama from De Montfort University, bringing a creative background in the performing arts. Born and raised in Cyprus, she has a passion for the Greek language and inspiring students to express themselves confidently and reach their full potential.
