Here you can find information about all the classes we offer, the syllabus and aim of each class as well as recommended duration and age groups. Since we are a supplementary school, the duration of each level/course depends entirely on the progress of its students. However, it should not take longer than described below.
At the end of A1, A2, B1, B2, the students will be ready to take the assessment for the certification in Greek. Our school, as a certified examination center, can host exams at its premises and our teachers are qualified to prepare the students for all levels of exams.
As well as the academic side of our courses, time is dedicated to teaching cultural elements, emphasizing the customs and traditions of our country and our national holidays.
Playgroup
For children 1½ – 4 year old
The playgroups offer the opportunity to children as young as 1½ to participate in activities, sing songs and listen to stories in Greek.
They sessions are run in Greek and provide an excellent introduction to our language and our School.
One parent is required to stay with the child and participate in the session.
Nursery
For children 3 – 4 year old
Duration: 1 year
The students can have a first contact with Greek through activities and games. They learn how to understand and repeat phrases or words that they hear in Greek by having fun and playing with other children.
Of course, what elevates their speaking skills is the parallel practice of speaking Greek at home.
Reception
For children 4 – 6 year old
Duration: 1-2 years
The students learn the alphabet and combinations of letters. They start to learn more difficult words and phrases. They also learn how to use the Greek verbs correctly and how to say and write small and simple sentences.
At this class constant verbal exercises are of great importance, and their repetitive practice at home is crucial.
